Gordon says...

Hmm....yeah...I was thinking of that carrying thing too....but, can only two people be on the bridge because there is not enough room or because it will just break? Because if it is due to room, the 1 and 2 min people can carry the 10 and 5 people and the total time will be only 2 min!! If not....then I'll agree with Joyce that it will be 5 minutes...

Christopher says...

Hrm, I can do it in 17 which is just a bit faster.

- 1 + 2 Cross (2 min)
- 1 returns, 2 is across (3)
- 5 + 10 cross (13 min)
- 2 returns, 5 + 10 remain across (15)
- 1 + 2 cross (17 min)

The only way to have a time lower than the obvious 19 is to bring two of the slower people over in one batch.

Joyce says...

AH!!!! and NOW I just realize!!!!!
We can have Mr. 1 carrying EVERONE!!! And the time will be 5 minutes!!!

karen.. please tell me they can carry each other

Joyce says...

WHAT???!!!
Karen~~ I had a 17.5 min scheme all worked out and now you tell me there's no stopping and turning back!!! ahhhhh

Karen says...

note: once the people set foot on the bridge, they walk the entire bridge. there's no stopping half way or turning back half way or anything weird like that, so that the math is simple. we're not doing any distance, speed, time calculations. =P i'm not tricking you. =)

Joyce says...

after getting 19min as my conservative/original answer, my intuition tells me the flashlight must be passed between two people sometime during the course to reduce the total walking time.. hmmmm

Karen says...

good try. apparently that's everybody's first guess. (it was mine also.) the answer is lower than 19 minutes. =)

(this 4th post in 2 days at work is the reason why employees need to have supervisors.)

Tim says...

Not sure if it's right but wouldn't the time be 19 min.? With Mr. One accompanying each time?

Karen says...

does anybody else like IQ questions?

there are four people who need to walk across a bridge. the bridge can only hold two people at a time. it's also night time so they must have a flashlight to cross this bridge and they only have one flashlight (of course =P). so, everytime two people crosses the bridge, one of them must come back to give the flashlight to the people who have yet to cross the bridge. these four people all walk at different paces. one will always take 10 minutes to cross the bridge. the other three will always take 5, 2 and 1 minutes respectively. and when two people cross the bridge, they both walk at the pace of the slower person. (ie. if mr. 10 and mr. 5 walks together, they will both take 10 mintues.) the question: what is the most TIME-EFFICIENT way for these four people to all cross the bridge?? and what is that time?? =)

to clarify: let's say mr. 10 walks with mr. 2 over the bridge. that's 10 minutes. if you send mr. 2 back, that's 2 minutes. in total, add to the 10, that's already 12 minutes. and you keep sending two people over and one back until everybody's over the bridge. btw, do not focus on the phrasing of the words; it's not a trick question in any sense.

i just heard this one over the weekend. one of my coworkers at my tutoring place was applying for jobs cuz he got his compsci degree just recently and he had to answer this question to get an interview!

Tim says...

Thanks Pat...;-)

Gordon says...

joANNE: give me a call when you see this =)

Pat says...

Guys, I dunno.. i might have to agree, with the girls
On this one.

Times call for you know.. more civilized things and
In some instances, being manly isn't what its all about.
Many times we don't anticipate could happen...

3 cheers for civility.. hoorah.

.. heeheheh.

Tim says...

Thanks Peter, glad to see I have one person who won't bash my head in with a mallet. Btw, kinda funny how you put that one part in about 'Doesn't matter if the person gets run over at 110 or 140km/hr'....yeah hopefully that doesn't happen obviously but it's true.

Peter says...

yo pat, did u get that file that i sent u? are u still up for that little project? just wondering...

and karen: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahaahha hehehe.... *sigh* man... that's hilarious.... *pppppbbbbtt!* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (when will the embarassment stop????)

Tim says...

Karen: Haha, good job...although I have no idea how that might've happened. Perhaps you don't know your own strength?

Well, to share 'one' of my embarassing stories which has happened to me a couple times. Your at a restaurant and your finishing up so you decide to go pay at the register and the price comes to $11.75 or something like that. Of course, meanwhile I'm thinking they said $9.75 or something like that so I give them $11 and say "Keep the change"

Peter says...

that story was awesome... i can't believe that porsche didn't kick your ass. esp. assuming he's driving stick. esp at the turn part where you passed him... man whut a sweet move hahaha.

i've never been in a race like that but mostly because there are few instances (and few stretches of road) that one can practice "responsible high speed driving" the stretch of road that tim was on was a 90km/h freeway completely inaccessible to pedestrians... and even in the rare case that there were pedestrians, it doesn't matter whether they get run over at 110km/h (avg speed that ppl drive on that freeway) or 140 km/h (likely tim's max speed)... at that speed, it honestly does not make a difference. therefore, as long as the only life that tim is really risking is his own, then i can't say i disapprove of this event.

HOWEVER, if this were anywhere else... where there's intersections, exits, onramps, or any speed limit under 90 km/h, i'd think that this would be pretty stupid. but that's not the case.

so tim, good job... congrats on the porsche-killing!

Karen says...

it's so lonely when my supervisor's not around (he's away on vacation...i'm running the show for the week =P *muahaha*) and thus my second post today...

ditto cindy!
tim: just a friendly reminder, that is all. =)

on a BRIGHTER note...i shall share the most embarassing moment of my life --> it happened this weekend. so i was at starbucks on robson. (already not good --> high profile place.) lalala...walk in...my sister orders a grande cappucino and since i was gonna get my blueberry mcflurry from mcdonald's later on, i ordered nothing and was looking at their new lines of coffee mugs and etc., like i always do. i see this really cute water bottle and i pick it up and look at the price. not bad...12 dollars. put it back on the shelf. the SECOND i put the thing back on the shelf...the whole shelf comes CRASHING down. WHAM! CRASH! pingings and pangings of the water bottles rolling across the starbucks shop. i had this 2 second moment where i thought i was dreaming 'cause there was no way that that was happening to me. the shelf was on the floor; the water bottles were everywhere, a sea of pinks and yellows and greens; the water bottles had knocked some other stuff on the lower shelves onto the floor as well. blech...i have no idea what happened. then of course, i snapped out of my 2-second trance and began apologizing profusely. starbucks guy was nice about it...but yeah. i managed to not look any of the staring customer in the eyes during the whole ordeal and just left. SO glad they weren't made of glass or anything valuable...*sigh*. so yeah, great eh? even for me...=P

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

thanks karen
i was also about to share a similar story after reading tim's horrifying car race entry...(no, my heart could not take it any longer so i did not get beyond the first paragraph)

DRIVE SAFELY, EVEN IF IT IS 12:30AM ON A DESERTED HIGHWAY.

Tim says...

Perhaps I forgot to mention that it's 12:30am, it's a big ass highway with no pedestrians crossing, and no cars within 2km in front or behind us?? Believe me, I don't race in the city
and I pay particular attention to the sides of the roads too (evidently watching out for Police cars :)).

Karen says...

lemme share a news story my mom showed me in the chinese newspaper:

this happened this past weekend in hong kong. the driver drove a really fancy car, was evidently speeding. she sped through a red light while a mother was crossing the street with her 2-year-old daughter. this is hong kong so they weren't the only ones crossing the street; there was a huge group of people but the mother was leading her toddler by the hand across so they were trailing behind everybody else. witnesses GUESSED that the mother had enough time to push the daughter aside because the 2-year-old was at the side of the road with minor cuts and bruises before anybody knew what had happened. the driver ran right over the mother; tire marks could be seen across her body. in the photo accompanying the news article, we see the little girl crying her eyes out, her face flushed, her forehead bruised, watching as paramedics try to revive her mother. the mother's family was surprised because the mother is usually very careful when crossing streets.

to people who drive and *ahem* car race: not trying to preach, but i was so, so sad after reading that and seeing the little girl's face. you could take your own life by driving recklessly or even worse, you could take the life of somebody who had nothing to do with you. drive safely, guys, okay? =)

sorry to be a party-pooper but the car-racing post begged for this. have a great day people. =)

Tim says...

After a highly entertaining and popular poker night. I have decided to hold another poker night next weekend. Date is not set although it will either be Saturday or Sunday night. Keep your schedules free ppl! (Specially for those that COULD NOT make it *Grr*)

Tim says...

***WARNING: POST IS FOR RACING FANATICS ONLY...OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT JUST FIND IT BORING***

Tim's 1st REAL race...but super cool! I knew I had no chance...but it was worth a shot...

Toyota Corolla 2001 LE
1.8L Engine
Horsepower 125 @ 5800 rpm
Torque: 126 @ 4000 rpm

VS

Porsche Boxster (Year unknown but let's assume that it's an older model)
2.7L Engine
Horsepower 217 @ 6400 rpm
Torque: 192 @ 4750 rpm

Left campus just after midnight and traveling down SW Marine Drive Highway at normal speed till I reach the intersection of 41st and SW Marine. My target is just ahead. As I pull up behind it, it picks up a little more speed...80km/hr...not too fast so I follow. Reach a couple red lights....Porsche is first in line and speeds away at each light while I try to keep up. We reach Oak and SW Marine intersection and the light turns green as we approach. I take outside line, he takes inside lane. Once again speeds away while I play catch up. Approaching midway mark of Oak Bridge and he passes two cars so I follow suit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As we reach the end of the bridge, he speeds up to 120km/hr and so I do the same. Finally as we get off the bridge he goes into right lane and slows down while I pass him. That's when he decides to go back in the left lane behind me...2 metres away...and highbeams me. The piece of crap..he got me pissed..so I speed off...130km/hr now..he follows 2 metres behind me. After ten seconds he moves to right lane to pass me. The race is on!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We both floor it but with the obvious advantage on the straightaway, the Porsche easily pulls out ahead. Once ahead the porsche gets into the left lane to block me. All I can do is follow but the porsche is now pulling away at a couple feet per sec but we are now fast approaching the corner near Westminister hwy. Both cars in the left lane, with him ahead, he brakes as he approaches the turn. As he brakes I quickly catch up to him up to the point where I am a few metres from his bumper. We are now in the opening of the turn. That's when I see my opening and cut inside with slight brake such that my rear wheels gently skid and I accelerate through the turn.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT'S THIS??!! I am now level with the porsche, but I am beginning to pull away on the inside! Trying to compensate, he begins accelerating through the turn too..but too late 'cause within a couple seconds I have pulled ahead and I'm now clear of him. Perhaps admitting defeat, he slows down to under 130km/hr but I know I've already pressed my luck too many times so I speed off just so he can't catch up. 5 min. later I am now at the Tsawwassen Intersection waiting at a light and I see the Porsche speed on to Tsawwassen Ferries.....there was only a 15+ sec. delay :):)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OUTCOME: TOYOTA COROLLA VICTORY! Mwahaha..sorry had to make you guys endure this.

Tim says...

POKER NIGHT CONFIRMED
7:30pm August 29th
Gage Towers Commons Room
Gordon, Pat, Peter, Thomas, Victor and myself
Min. $10 (but really I mean $20 :-) )

Pat if you get this, give me a call because I have the wrong # for some reason (778-224-0740)? <-didn't work

Tim says...

Joanne: No worries, Leo won't be coming to our poker night because apparently he has some family dinner. Not to mention his mouth hurts or something and can't even speak let alone eat? Of course I could be making all of this up when in fact he does intend on coming mwahaha... ;-)

Joyce: Yes, I understand what the mathematician is trying to say but I don't see how it's funny...
~Tim~

Joanne says...

Tim: Tomorrow night is the first BPP Exec social of the 2004/2005 year. So Chris can't make it. And if Leo somehow manages to attend your poker night while not having time to stop by the BBQ, he'll be getting an ass-kicking.

HAHAHAHA. Those jokes were funny! *YET another piece of proof that Joanne is the geekiest one in the group.*

Joyce says...

well... what the mathematician means is that 2 - 3 + 1 = 0, so the sum of ppl going into the the restaurant during the observing period is 0.

and the second joke... hahaha.. it's funny. But i thought the computer scientist would say "just press Ctrl + Alt + Delete..

yes, i'm a nerd, and i'm proud to say that!!! (ah.. so sad..)
lalala... meow!!
(this is joyce in her post-DAT craziness!!!)

Gordon: BARD ON SUNDAY!!!!!
Everyone: what's up? How's going? Got Milk?

Friday, August 27, 2004

Gordon says...

hehe...good..cause I didn't get them either cin...

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

Tim: that just means you're normal. LOL. these are jokes for study geeks :)

Tim says...

Cindy: Uhh, I don't really get it...I mean I understand but I don't think it's funny? 0.o

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

heard a few good science-y jokes yesterday at the imagine work party
but due to my bad memory i can't recall the whole thing
here's what i've got

joke number 1
so a biologist, a physicist and a mathematician were sitting in a cafe one day when they all noticed 2 people go into a building. a couple moments later, 3 people came out.
the biologist said, "they must have reproduced" (HAHAHA)
the physicist said (i forgot. something about a black hole?)
the mathematician said, "if one more person goes in, there will be a sum of zero people"

joke number 2
so one day in an industrial plant, something went wrong with the machinery. several guys were scambling for help, and finally, they asked a computer science major.
he said to them, as a matter of factly, "close all the windows, and try again"

Tim says...

POKER NIGHT

Hey guys, the date has been tentatively set for Sunday, August 29th. Time as of yet unspecified. Our backup date is Monday, August 30th. As of right now I have confirmed:
Gordon, Peter, Thomas, Victor, Myself.

Still waiting for response from: Jason, Leo, Pat, Chris
Btw, if any girls WOULD like to join you are completely welcome to join us!

Anyways, the place has not been entirely set although we're thinking Gordon's apartment 'around' 7pm. Minimum amount to play is $10 with $0.25 increments. We will be playing Texas Hold'em poker format. (Just for your info, $10 is usually played in 5-10 games so you may want to bring more 'cause it's gonna be at least 2 hrs.)

Tim says...

Jason: What's the problem with having only guys? It's not like you should have a problem...unless you have ...or rather 'lack' something that would put you into the 'guy' category...

Tim says...

Hey guys, I'd like to propose a poker game on campus sometime next week (Texas Holdem style). The offer is ONLY for the guys (well mainly because the girls don't gamble :p) and I'll post details sometime later this week. We will be gambling with $0.25 increments and a minimum of $10 is required. If interested, please email me at TGokou@hotmail.com so that I may see what day is most convenient for everyone. Thanks!

Pat says...

Karen says...

some news to share...=)

from the maclean's issue i've been waiting for, the cover story: canada's best schools.

guess whose highschool was one of 20 schools in all of canada mentioned?!?!?!

that's right...gladstone secondary. *karen beams with pride*

how's that for eastside ghetto-ness? =P it's so funny...in the article...they made us sound so poor too...and i quote: a highschool with 20% of its students living in poverty and 25% in single-parent families...blah blah blah...

have a good day guys. i know i will. =)

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

hello folks...
i can't help but to advertise some volunteer opportunities on campus! (received all of this from imagine central...so those of you involved, you know already)

1. mature and transfer student orientation
students.ubc.ca/orientations/transfermature.cfm
basically to help mature and or transfer students to ubc make the transition

2. student leadership summit
i dont know any websites or anything that you can visit but i'll ask imagine...for us imagine people it's free but i don't know how much it costs for others to attend
it's on aug 31 tuesday, and runs from 12 to 6. short and sweet and you get to network, meet leaders and excellent students from campus!

okay. >heehee< (guilty laugh). ciao.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

So it's been confirmed...

Friday August 20th, 2004
7:00pm
Shabusen Yakiniku Restaurant
2993 Granville Street
under my name

Please do not be late! We only have 2 hours in total for ordering, eating (dinner, dessert and cake), and chatting in the restaurant, starting from our reservation at 7pm! If you arrive late and I ordered already, you'll only be eating/drinking my favorite-MISO SOUP!~ until they take our second order. Now you don't want to get that for all you can eat, do you? (ya okay. So it IS a threat. Now will you take me more seriously?)

As for after-dinner suggestions, I personally would like to go to the restaurant Jason's band is playing at. But we can decide on the day of, no worries. (just that we're mostly 21/20/19 already...what more sophisticated things can we do other than listening to jazz? heehee)

Monday, August 16, 2004

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

so again the information is:
7:00pm
Shabusen Korean and Japanese restaurant
2993 Granville street (between 14th and Granville)
Friday, August 20th, 2004.

The time is tentative but the date is pretty much set (my apologies for not being more democratic). I'll be calling everyone on the blog (well...except for Pat. Are you in Vancouver, Pat? I've heard you were coming for a visit some time in August...) and Christina. I'll be needing Christina's number and i'll call Gary about it (don't post personal info like phone numbers or email or addresses on the blog, guys -that is why i purposely erased the address to steph and star's engagement party. btw we should congratulate them soon when they come back to vancouver- cuz random people could read it). Jason I also need your number but I'll get it off Gary as well.

Okay. Thanks folks.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

thanks karen! u should be like the official ambassador of phish and chips or something...lol u're so energetic and welcoming all the time!

by the way...congratulations guys, on making it to the semifinal's in ultimate! keep me updated if you guys are still doing more practice or games...

so ya...after 1 day of none-stop work (and play of course) i have finally recuperated enough energy to start thinking about Gary and Christina's birthday outing (from now on abbreviated as G/C bday). The tentative plan is to go to Shabusen, located between 14th and Granville street. It's the same place that we went for Leo and Li kai's birthday (which happened on one of ucs' beer garden...Karen, remember we were so red and "drunk [or so we thought]" but of course joyce was the giggliest person at the table LOL anyways) and its location is really convenient for the driver-deficient group of us. I have purposely chosen the place so Christina can avoid sushi if she wants to (I've heard she doesn't like them) but Gary can still feed himself good (like he has always wanted). So unless someone speaks up in the next 3 days...I'll book a table for us for Friday August 20th, 2004.

Sunday, August 15, 2004

Karen says...

cindy and viv: congratulations! =P it must feel so damn good. and of course, welcome back to society!!

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

yay!!!!

Happy Birthday Gary!

Since I have nothing to say and I'm still at work, I'll add another random quote.

Karen says...

Happy Birthday Gary!! (apparently, you share your birthday with none other than pete sampras!)

omg, joanne, you're my hero. i don't know how you do it...i'm so SO tired right now...so the saying IS true! good luck!!

I don't mean to upstage you Karen, but I am currently working into my THIRTY FOURTH hour at the lab on four hours of sleep. And I have at least another five to go.

My magic potion? Tall iced coffee with three shots of espresso. And no sugar or milk.

Karen says...

to the fabulous party-planning people of this group: cindy and joanne

on seeing your posts just now, i talked to christina just now to let her know that her birthday is not gonna go unnoticed. i asked her if she preferred anyday particular day, she said weekend. a double birthday celebration...tres tres cool! i can keep christina updated on this since i do currently see her for many many hours most days of life. =P

on a side note: i'm currently working extremely joyously well into my 9th hour at the lab on just 5 hours of sleep. my secret? my very own concoction patented this morning! one table spoon of my dad's columbian special something something roast, one table spoon of ovaltine malt and one table spoon of coffee-mate in about 20 mL of hot water. wahahahaha. went down quick and easy in my daily early morning mad dash out the door. (for those who like ovaltine, you know it tasted very very good. =P)

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

alright, so i've gotten permission from your royal highness Gary (well...royal highness for one day at least) to postpone the birthday gathering for himself and Christina. I will start "organizing" stuff after the MCAT and probably be phoning everyone for their schedule, preferences, and suggestions. I cannot give an exact date or location for the outing yet but I'll keep ya posted.

I desperately welcome inputs from all of you so please feel free to drop me an email (for security reasons I won't release it here...it's my full name [include middle initial w] at telus dot net). chat with you guys soon!

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

good call Joanne.

i really would like to participate in Gary and Christina's gathering but I really cannot afford to take time off studying. I would like to propose we postpone it til next week, but majority rules. So whatever you guys decide is fine with me.

to make the postponing idea more appealing...how about if I offer to organize (well not much organizing. more like asking people to drive others) if the dinner is next week?
you guys can pick the day (well gary and chrsitina can pick) except for Tuesday night...

Joanne says...

Hey you guys! It's Gary's bday this Thursday (that means Christina's is tomorrow...hmmm) so why don't we all head out for dinner after Ultimate this Wednesday or something? We should invite Christina as well..hopefully she'll want to come. What do you guys think?

Joanne says...

Joyce: OMG! He's so hot there! I LOVE Prada suits (but not as much as Dolce and Gabbana, hehe). Although I would have liked his outfit better if the tie's red was about 3 shades darker. But ah well 8P.

Another long day at work. Wish me luck, people!

Joyce says...

on my biweekly visit to U of W's mathNEWS site, i came across this article:

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

hmm...i have that dilemma too. lol. but as i said i'm just gonna bring all the ID's that i have...better safe than sorry! plus if i go missing and lose my mind, kind hearted people will be able to find ID's on me and get me home safely...lol. carrying lots of ID on urself is always a good idea unless u lose ur wallets all the time (heh heh heh. that's moi. but i will be careful for one day in my life!).

and have another dilemma.

since you've now told me that no. 2 pencils are essentially the same as HB pencils...should i abandon my 2B pencils and switch? i am so used to my 2B's already tho...lol, i especially 'like' the lead build up on the side of my palm after writing...
i guess they only specify what kind of pencils to make sure the bubbles are not too light right? so if it's too dark, they should not mind? but if i can't completely erase wrong answers then they won't be able to give me the mark that i deserve...

*sigh*. i think we're both paranoid.

Thanks, Cin. I'll try to bookmark the page without looking at it....LOL

Hmm..speaking of which, the MCAT peeps are asking for an ID with photo and signature, right? My citizenship card has my chinese name (Ka Yee Lam) and photo, but no signature. My UBC card has Vivienne Ka Yee Lam on it, with photo but no signature. My kaplan card has name Vivienne Lam with photo and signature. Hmm...they specify two IDs, but I wonder if it's okay I bring three? LOL....'cause I don't have driver's license...Grrrrr......

Pat says...

wwwhooooaa... did i just see a very not subtle hint about something in the post below?? ...

heh.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

*cindy exercises magical powers on a make-shift voodoo doll of Chris* "come to the daaaark side, come, come to the daaaaaaaark side...watch girly shows. watchhh girrrly shoooows..."

tim: if you had recognized more than 50% of the shows that I mentioned, you, like Chris, have got a problem. lol. i don't suppose it's sexist to say that guys, especially at the tender age of 20, should not be watching shows where people are proposing, or planning a wedding, or going on a honeymoon, or going through marital counselling.

altho u might want to check out the show "say yes and marry me" for ideas for a proposal. i know its a little early...but you were romantic to start with. so you probably will get further inspired by how other hopeless romantics propose...

Pat says...

mmm.. tripe.

Christopher says...

Sadly enough I recognize more than 80% of those shows. Its scary to think how much someone can be changed. Luckily I still retain my ability to know that the majority of them are tripe! God help me if I lose that one last light, for I would be lost in the darkness of commercial television.

Tim says...

Errrm Cindy, approx 95% of your last message made absolutely NO SENSE to me. I'm assuming you were referring to TV shows that I know nothing about.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

(totally unrelated, i know. But i'm gooooing craaaazy)

i LOOOOVE "While you were out"!
and "Trading Spaces"!
and "What not to wear"!
and "Date Patrol"!
and "a Makeover Story"!
and "For better or for worse"!
and "Faking it"!

I can sit in front of the television all day long just switch between TLC and Life Network...
yes yes, Life Network!
there's "America's Next Top Model"
"Animal Miracles"
"Say yes and marry me"
"Merge"
"Exchanging vows"
"Last Resort"

oh man....after the MCAT I am gonna become a couch potato (or rather...couch corn. cuz i eat corn snacks not chips) and just watch the television all day long!

p.s. I'm only an unofficial spokesperson for the two networks. I should get paid.

Karen says...

wow...............i feel like i'm in one of those home-decorating shows where they transform people's rooms...especially the one called 'while you were out'...haha.

a welcomed change!

PS: anyone gonna watch the finale fireworks on saturday?? i'm gonna go...so lemme know!! =P (i know i sound like a broken record, but last one, last time!! =P)

Joyce says...

so we're being nerdy now eh? I'll add some more.

(for my fellow nerdy 007 fans)
My name is Bond, Ionic Bond;Taken, not shared

A small piece of sodium which lived in a test tube fell in love with the Bunsen burner:
"Oh Bunsen, my flame. I melt whenever I see you . . .", the sodium pined.
"It's just a phase you're going through", replied the Bunsen burner.

*cough*... yeah.. i better stop

To continue with Cindy's atom jokes:

A neutron went into a bar. The barkeeper gave the neutron his beer, and the neutron asked him how much it cost. "For you," the barkeeper replied, "no charge."

Xp Xp Xp LOL...

this one actually came from Reader's Digest humor section....

Hey just wondering who's the admin for our blog right now. Stephen wants to join, so could the admin forward an invitation to him @ spider__j@hotmail.com. Thanx

Tim says...

Haha, it's so dumb but I got a good laugh out of it

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

(i heard this one during volunteering. keep in mind i lack a sense of humor)

So one day, two atoms were walking on the street. Suddenly one atom tripped and fell.
He said, "ow, I think I just lost an electron!"
His companion said, "oh, are you sure?"
He replied. "Yes. I'm positive!"

re: the new quote
girls get what they want not only by being smart or dumb...
but also by being ourselves, too!
be flirty, whiny, sexy, helpless, sweet, skanky...everything! especially works when girls are attractive though...(*silently sighs*...)

so i guess we have it good in some departments :)

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

Cindy's total food count in a span of 3 hours:
candy + candy + candy + candy + half a bag of corn snacks = 1 afternoon of MCAT

that translates to a Calorie intake of:
90 + 90 + 90 + 90 + (0.5) 270 = 475 Calories

hooooly crap...imagine how much calories i have eaten and will be eating in the weeks before today and the week and a half after today...

i'm so bored. okay. the following is my favorite joke from 5th grade.

Q: Why do gorillas have big nostrils?
A: Because they have big fingers.

Karen says...

re: tim's earlier post

to my own defense...i'm going to remind people that i speak before i think sometimes and well, the guys are horrible, mean people, with very perverted minds. but to their defense, i totally and completely, single-handedly dug my own hole there. for the record, that's the most embarassed i've been in a long time. thanks guys, i needed that one. hahahaha. =P

re: jason
u asked who nevergonnagrowup is? well, it is I :) hope that helps!
here's are two clues..."die MCAT die" and "thumb injury thanks to catching the frisbee the COOL way". if those are not good enough clues yet...i'm also the girl who is often seen beside a guy named Chris...hahaha...

btw my thumb has improved! i can wiggle it now! and man you don't realize how your fingers are taken for granted when you cannot even flip open a book single-handedly...

and sorry for my frequent blurps on the blog these days, guys and girls. i have lots of geeky frustration with nowhere to release. hope they provide you with lively entertainment :)

Pat says...
