Tim says...

All I can say is.....WTF?!?!

Joyce says...

joanne, are you unable to part with your old bras and underwears that are too small as well?

Joanne says...

Well, 15 hours of non-diligent packing and 4 pieces of 50-lb luggage later, I am packed and ready to embark on my long and arduous journey to Toronto. Man, snoozing on an airplane listening to my mp3 player...that's harsh. That's right, a matter of hours I'll be living across the street from Chris and engaging in voyeurism.

Today sure has forced me to reassess my shopping habits. For example, I understand my father's lunatic rantings whenever I come home from Freedman's - flying over 18 pairs of shoes IS ridiculous, I do agree. But who am I? The Dalai Lama? OF COURSE I'm going to continue shoe shopping. And they sell Jimmy Choos in Toronto, MUAHAHAHAHA. Also, I think I never grew out of the "I freaking hate my underwear" phase because I have more bras than underwear. And there's bound to be some sort of psychological pathology when you can't bear to part from your Immunobiology textbook despite all the prying from your parents.

And a random question popped into mind as I was packing today. Ladies, would you much rather have a really obvious pantyline or four boobs?

Gordon says...

My place is 1350 sq ft. I don't need this much space for sure. But since i can, and it's cheap here...why not =P It only costed me $225K and it's like 4 blocks to campus. Might as well live comfortably for four years (or maybe 9...). But the main reason why i bought instead of rented was because 4 yrs of renting in UBC was a pain in the ass since i kept having to move...plus all that money goes down the hole. And since Edmonton is expanding, the value of the condo will most likely go up (especially by UA)... so it's a good investment!

Well, the second day of orientation was awesome. We went to this nice park in Edmonton (yah, they have parks here! with trees and grass and a nice lil lake!) and did this team building kinda thing. I thought it would suck and be like those dumb leadership workshop things (haha..like SLC =P) but it was sooo fun. We were broken up into small groups, and my group was an awesome bunch. We did team building activities... but it's actually not as boring as everyone would think it is. We were given puzzles and exercises and had to solve them as a team. It's harder than you think...

First day was hell. We got speeches from deans from four faculties (Dent, Med, Dental Hygeine, Med lab science) and more talks from miscallenous people. But atleast we got a free bbq lunch with all the trimmings including dessert! Then we had this clubbing thing at night (in fact, there's a clubbing thing EVERYDAY except today...probably cause we had to run around all day today)...but damn the clubs suck here (or atlesat the one i went to). The music was crappy (well, to me since there was no hip hop and was some genre that i didn't understand). A few people stayed out as late as 2am apparently....and we had to be at school by 7:30 this morning. I have no idea how they did it...but i was home by 11:30...

Awe man chris, you're making anat sound crazy. I don't get to start those till next semester. But i don't have to buy grubs...we rent them from hospital (free of charge), and can return them dirty!. So..that's a few bucks to save =)

vivienne says...

Karen: Well said. Chris is definitely more "fu-gowish" nowadays. ;D

Karen says...

i like this new cheerful toronto chris.

Christopher says...

Did mention how much I hate mornings.

Dissection went well, noone vomitted or anything but a few people felt sick enough they didn't want to eat lunch. I ate. The worst thought I had that day was that a horizontal slice looks like hotpot beef. But anyhow, my deviance aside, it was icky at first and afterwards we all smelt like the embalming fluid. After another 2 hours this morning I get to present my product to my groupmates.

Joyce: Lol if you want to complain about laundry, I have to do mine every 3-4 days as my laundry machine only takes half a normal load. Atleast mine is free and ensuite tho.

By the way, anyone have a picture of Ivy from Biochem, can anyone scan a grad photo or something. I think she looks like Ivy too. And regarding who is prettier, you're all blind! They are the exact same so how can they differ in relation to attractiveness.

Gordon: AWESOME apartment. What I can't figure out is why you need so much space? Whats the square footage?

Joanne: If you don't want to see it, don't look hehe. Sometimes its easier to do a load of laundry at the start!

Now I'm gonna be late to my crappy structure and function class. Have a great day everyone.

Joyce says...

I'm sooo bored right now after shower but not yet to dry my hair, so i think i'll comment on everyone's msn name.

chris - uhm, VERY creative
jason - i still dunno what that means (and I wonder if you check this blog at all)
joanne - drinking on an empty stomach is the thing you have to do once in your life, and only once
leo - hehe, thought you meant surfing the net
cindy - awww, take it easy
timtim - i thought i saw aaron carter. who is aaron carter anyway?
peter - where's all the lyrics?
ben - bahaha, 4th year, burn!!!!
gary - i wonder what you agreed to do. please don't tell me it has something to do with virginity
gordon - you should throw a bunch of them up in the air, and as the papers fall down, say "merry christmas"
karen - haha, when I clean my desk, my mom usually says that i'm "celebrating the desk's birthday"
pat - sounds like you are going on a war...
viv - haha, patism, good one!! enjoy it. please use protective eye gear.

o.k. that's it. and I'm going to bed.
Oh, one thing - my LCD monitor arrived today!!!
Now i can hook it up to my laptop, and have a HUGE desktop working space. mwahaha, take that, all you fancy apartment people.
And, I did my 1st coin-operated laundry today; cost me $3 in total for a load of whites, darks and drying (60 min!).
Now here's a question, the necessity of doing laundry comes when I run out of underwear (unless I want to wear the wedgie prone ones). Should I invest in more underwears or should I just do laundry every 1.5 week?

Joanne says...

Btw, regarding the floral embalming cocktail, can I come inhale?

Joanne says...

I'm afraid that given the current speculations regarding my sexual orientation, any comment I make on the attractiveness of the strange girl in the black and white photograph and Karen can only result in awkwardness; so I'll just say that the girl on the left does resemble Ivy from Honours Biochemistry though...and you guys get to dress up - I'm jealous, hehe.

Gordon: Walk-in closet...and a walk-in closet full of clothes at that - SOOOOOOO JEALOUS! You already know that I'm jealous of your closet, but I think it's an emotion that deserves reiteration...

Chris: Haha, two weeks after I move in, we should start having contests at regular intervals to see who has the messiest desk. And let me raid your caffeine station until I get mine set up, k? ;)

Yar, indeed I'll be living that close to Chris. I intend on using this opportunity to provide a service to Cindy by investing in a good pair of binoculars/telescope and spying on Chris to ensure the absence of strange unidentifiable girls. If that "Karen lookalike" happens to show her face around more than I like, you can be sure there will be a LONG long-distance phone call back to Vancouver! Now, let's hope Chris doesn't adopt the naked behaviour of his hotel neighbours...

Karen says...

wow...sooo pretty!! okay yeah...i really need to move out...(and win the lottery).

chris! you've already forgotten what i look like!! *sob* i guess it's good to know you still think of me though. haha. tell us about those dissections!! and if any medstudents throw up at sight of dead body! (i also love how your post rate has increased a billion folds since moving half way across the country.)

tim...*karen rolls her eyes* fortunately for you, my ego (as you likely know) is very hardy and likely invincible. muahahaha! =P

*psst* peter/viv you'll receive your payment in the mail as promised. =)

Peter says...

DAAAAMN that apartment is PIMP... alberta here i come

Gordon says...

yah, she doesn't look like karen at all...and as for better looking or not? no comment =P

Finally found out how to post pics (yes, i'm slow) ...so i'll put some pics up of my condo!

My Upstairs Washroom

My master bedroom washroom (downstairs =P)

Walk in closet

My bedrrom

My Study

Living Room

Kitchen

Stairs from my bedroom/washroom/closet to the rest of the condo

Joyce says...

*gasp* Chris, is that contact lenses solution near your sink?? Since when? I saw the Bard mug, and I brought mine to ny as well!! Your and Gordon's place make my rez apt look like a dump, despide my effort to de-dump it. btw, she does NOT look like Karen at all.

When's the Canadaian Thanksgiving?

Funny thing:
I went to a beach called Coney Island (in lots of movies) with my roommate, a very nice gal from Wisconsin. We bonded over beer and, naturally, since we're at a beach, I demonstrated my bird phobia in front of her. I told her I always got attacked by birds but have never had a bird-drop on me since the first grade. Having saying that, about 2 hrs later, I had the biggest bird drop on the back. It felt like someone had stoned me from above. I didn't know and thought I was a victim of some punk throwing random things around, so I reached my arm to the back.. and.. tada, there it was, bright yellow and goowey, bird sh*t!!!
And, just as I thought I could untan myself from the summer of ultimate and trip to taiwan, I forgot to put on sun screen yesterday, and I'm sure Gordon would be REALLY jealous of me now.

vivienne says...

Yar! The only similarity is that both of the wear glasses of a similar style. And besides, Karen's a LOT prettier. :p

Chris: You and Joanne live that close? Can you actually see her window? Maybe you guys can do some signaling thing a la Anne of Green Gables....(with the candles you know.. ;D) Bwahahahaha....

Peter says...

sorry guys, that girl isn't similar to nor better-looking than karen...

Tim says...

AHAHAHAHAHAHHAA!! Don't worry Chris, I took one look at that picture and thought it was Karen for like the first 2-3 seconds and then I'm like....naw, she looks a LOT better than Karen.

Haha, but seriously...that is hilarious! Good job Chris, keep up the good work.

Christopher says...

Hey Guys, I finally got off my butt and took pics of my apartment. Everything is as I want it lol. I decided to go with a Birch and Blue theme as I wanted something bright and cheery to distract me from the pile of notes I've aquired (BTW these were given on the first day of class lol).

View of my entrance. There is a mirrored closet on the left, but I haven't cleaned it yet thus, its not in the picture. Creative editing, don't you love it.

The entrance to my living room with my all important coffee and tea hutch and the entrance to my kitchen.

Without this station I wouldn't be able to wake up in the morning. Note the crazy amounts of canned food and such.

My workstation with nice new printer (90$ off at Costco) and nice large TV. I didn't want a tv that large but after 3 exchanges this is what I ended up with. Don't ask... BTW 1080i TV's cannot process computer inputs because it artifically scales up resolution and cannot use 60Hz input. Conclusion? Buy a 780p TV. Stupid businessmen stopping progress due to greed.

Detailed look at my computer and the fact its already messy...

The view from my desk. That building across the street is where Joanne will be living. The other 2 angles of my view are obscured by a stupid hotel. I've already seen 2 naked people from my window.... Traumatizing...

My bed. Don't expect it to remain made for long. Also a pointless bookcase on the side. I forgot the fact I left every single one of my books back in Vancouver.

Small kitchen. Slightly claustrophobic. I bought a stool so I could remind myself of working at the bench in lab.

My laundry room with storage rack. Note the 5 boxes of Diet A&W Root Beer. This Might last me through the winter.

A very messy sink with random products.

Anyhow, thats where I'll be living out my sad little life for the next ages. I look forward to seeing the rest of your guys' new pads.

Joanne says...

Dang it, I decided to cheat and clicked on the "Properties" of the picture, noticed "http://individual.utoronto.ca/chrng/Karenlookalike.jpg" and I was gonna comment that Chris, I know you miss us, but this does not warrant taking pictures of random strangers ;). Too bad I was too inebriated to type that post and now the hilarity of the moment has passed.

I also noticed that your webpage http://individual.utoronto.ca/chrng/ needs some spiffing up. Get right on it!

Christopher says...

Baaah, why can't anyone see the fact she looks identically like Karen!!

Her name is Jennifer, and she is a whole lot more forward than Karen is lol, which was sort of a shock.

Did you guys know they don't use formaldehyde anymore in perserving bodies. The mix they use now smells actually pretty nice. Almost floral.

Embalming Fluid:
Dettol
Phenol
Formalin
Sodium Acetate
Propylene Glycol
Alcohol

Joyce says...

chris: her name's not melody right? she's cute though.

vivienne says...

Joanne: Yeah, it's $180 dollars, but you can wear a sweater again and again if it's good quality for years to come. BTW, the workmanship sucks at Banana Republic. :/ That sweater I was checking out had its seams unravelling even before it was bought. :p bad bad bad...

Chris: Enjoy your first dissection! If I were you, I'd eat a HUGE breakfast, 'cause the probability of you eating lunch afterwards with the "death smell" about you is SLIM.

Christopher says...

Heya Guys!

Doesn't the girl on the right seem familiar?

Anyhow I've been too busy to clean up my apartment so I can't take any pictures yet. Maybe early next week I can do that.

Surprisingly I'm doing my first dissection on Monday/Tuesday. 6 hours of removing internal organs. I hope I can do a good job because I've never touched a scapel. Ah well, I'll make sure I get a good breakfast and lunch.

Friday, August 26, 2005

Joanne says...

...says the girl who says a sweater is "only" $180 ;).

vivienne says...

$150 meal = a lot of groceries = feeds Vivienne for a long time, or at least feeds Vivienne a lot of unagi don...

Yes, I am a cheapo =.=

Thursday, August 25, 2005

Tim says...

Actually, before I read your post...I was gonna play a game of the price is right and guess $100.01 lol....so guess I would've won harhar.

LOL, Gordon when you said you were busying doing yada..yada...yada...and screwing...I was like...WHA? Oh, SCREWING...gotcha!

Joanne says...

Both of you are wrong! Chris by over a half actually (and I thought you would know better! hehe). Yar, I did do the omakase option at the bar. Tojo is so cool! He asks what your favourite fish is and so when he serves you something that features it, he goes "Your favourite" and smiles. Soooo cute! And he's short! Which makes it even cuter!! One of his other chefs is also really cool. I started off with
- red and white tuna in some kinda sauce
- zucchini flower tempura
- halibut cheek encrusted with rice crackers
- house special roll containing crab but wrapped in egg instead of seaweed (probably my least favourite dish)
- anago atop crab sunomono
- toro nigiri sushi
- smoked salmon (made in-house) nigiri sushi
- some kind of spicy cone (and the seaweed was NOT hard to bite off! nice and crispy)
- "Japanese steak" which was actually bluefin tuna (DEFINITELY the creme de la creme of the meal)
- dessert containing mango ice cream, yogourt and blueberries
Dinner worked out to be a little over $150/person, but once you tack on the tip...oi. But despite the price, I actually bumped into someone I know there - Francine!!! I was tempted to try my Japanese on one of the chefs, but thinking about how Gary laughs whenever I speak Cantonese, and Joyce laughs whenever I attempt Mandarin...thought it would be best not to make a fool of myself... I didn't have THAT much sake.

Yar, where ARE all the Vancouver people? I've been talking to you guys online, so I KNOW you're still alive.

Gordon says...

my turn to report from Edmonton (which apparently is situated in the province with the BEST weather according to CBC news...BC was only 3rd *shock*).

It has been the most stressful and tiring few days driving, building, buying, bolting, hammering, screwing....pretty much non-stop for 5 days straight and finally my apartment is looking livable. The weather here has been kinda like a Vancouver: hot and sunny for the first 3 days and cold and rainy the next two. Today will be an awesome 21 degrees with clear skies =)

But you have NO IDEA how awesome this ONE TAX is. I have saved soooooo much money not paying that 7% PST!!

Joanne: tojos... depending on how much you eat...(and since it's you) I'm assuming $85-100/person (tax included).

Chris: Haha...I forgot that Toronto is 3 hrs ahead of vancouver... so i thought you had to go to school at 4:30 haha. my orientation will be hell too, but i have 4 more days of my last free summer! but damn, glad i'm not starting this week. Good luck man!

aight, i'm gonna go get more stuff.

(where the hell are all the vancouver people??... except joanne i guess =P)

Christopher says...

Heya!! Damn I wanted to go to Tojo's. My guess would be 60 dollars per person. Did you sit at the bar and was he there serving you?

Anyhow, I'm 40 min away from my first anatomy class. Man 7:30 in the morn for 3.5 hours on August 25th!!! WTH is going on lol.

Anyhow today is really my first break from this crazy orientation schedule (I'm bailing on the days events lol), so I'll post some pics of my apartment. Good luck guys!

Wednesday, August 24, 2005

Joanne says...

Hahahaha, lemme make this a dialogue.

Maybe if you start saying "Yar" they'll stop focusing on the "eh" and stop asking you if you're Canadian.

I had a dinner at Tojo's today. Let's start taking guesses for how much a dinner for 2 plus a bottle of sake cost!!!

Joyce says...

I was talking to my floormate/classmate. And the following convo occured:

f/c: Are you from Canada?
Joyce: Yes (thinking: wow, am I already famous on the floor?), How do you know?
f/g: You said "eh."

This is the second "you said eh" I've received since Monday. I wonder when yar will start to come out.

Joyce says...

WHAT HAPPENED???

I hope the Japanese didn't drop their top secret nuclear bomb in Vancouver by mistake.....

Has everyone been very much so extremely busy?... or you guys are just partying too hard. hehehe, maybe a K.To chaser will help the hangovers.

Friday, August 19, 2005

Joyce says...

hi ya everyone.
I'm in NY now, and using an iBook borrowed from my friend (the interface is pretty intuitive, actually, and i had fun figuring out things. ahhh, nerdiness increasing... increasing....)
mwahaha, I guess the flight was overbooked, so they upgraded me and my parents to the business class!!! wheeeeee
The chair was the coolest part, it's electrically powered, so there's now pushing the back of the chair... oh, kinda like a dentist's chair, only a LOT more comfortable and inviting.

Wednesday, August 17, 2005

vivienne says...

Yeah, I went to Banana Republic last week; already eyeing the nice green cashmere sweater they have there and it's only $180!!!

Joanne says...

Yar, I was totally drooling over everything at the Banana Republic in Metrotown this August (yar, Metrotown FINALLY becomes a decent mall...and I have to move away from it. Why? WHY!!!!) So I'm there Boxing Day!!!

Or maybe I should start saving up so I can go to Holt Renfrew to buy like, investment pieces. Needed:
1) sheepskin fur coat. Shearling is SOOOO two years ago...and I can't afford mink.
2) a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress. I think it can accomodate my boobs. Or at least Vogue said so.
3) a Rigby and Peller bra. It's the official Royal corsetiere!!! Hats excluded, I'm sure the Queen has good taste.

That way, maybe I can impress a young resident and get my mom off my back. OR make like Saving Face and impress a young woman resident. That way, my mom can say "at least she's marrying a doctor" and it'll make my newfound lesbianism less daunting.

Wait, Joyce is the my backup. "at least she's marrying a dentist" has a nice ring to it, right?

Tuesday, August 16, 2005

Joyce says...

check out the fall line of Banana Republic (www.bananarepublic.com). who's on board with me on boxing day?

Karen says...

- are we still 'stacking' next year? -

just wondering if we're still gonna have a team next year...or if we're gonna sadly, SADLY let our t-shirts go into retirement after only one...ONE...season...=(

so guys, yay or nay?

PS: psst...footer post has been there for aagggeeesss...

Gordon says...

haha..i FINALLY noticed the footnote...how long has it been there for ??

Peter says...

Crosses vandalized at antiwar mom's Texas camp site - Yahoo! News

Read that and pay attention to the last sentence in the article. I seriously couldn't stop laughing. How is it that conservative Americans still expect the world to take them seriously with this kind of representation?

Gordon says...

my turn, my turn!

December 18th:
Gordon returns for xmas
Janurary 2nd: Gordon goes back to Alberta

Monday, August 15, 2005

Joanne says...

We need blog scandals eh? Hmmm, I can pretend like I'm going out with someone again, but you guys wouldn't believe me anyhow...

Add to itinerary:
December 22nd, 2005: Joanne returns from Toronto for the Holidays
January 4th, 2005: Joanne goes back to Toront for the rat race

BY THE WAY, for all of you who made it seem like yesterday was the last time you'll see me before I leave, I'M VERY DEPRESSED!!!

Joyce says...

hmmm.... cheese cake.

stupid bug drowned itself in my milk.... stupid stupid... there goes 1/2 a glass of pefectly good late night milk.

Karen says...

HAPPY 22nd BIRTHDAY GARY!!

Joanne says...

Peeing at the gay pub today, and a thought came to me.

What's the point of having seperate washrooms for men and women in a gay pub???

Joyce says...

I'm Back...

and.. is the party happening? or are we doing it later?

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

Gordon says...

Good Luck CHRIS!!!

Joanne says...

Yar, those stickers have been around for years. I know some girls who use them everyday, and some who just use them for "special occasions" although, wouldn't it look weird if you had an eye crease one day and none the next? Who knows. Apparently they can get quite comfortable and the stickers are dirt cheap.

Another one of those fashion questions. What should I wear to a party at the Vancouver Club? Dress code is "smart casual" but look at all the rules! So keep in mind this is a place where these super rich men with sticks up their asses hang out. It has only been the past few years that they've allowed women in, but it's by invite only. Suit and tie is standard for a regular dinner there. Aaaagggghhhh, what to wear what to wear what to wear?

vivienne says...

I realized how badly some Asians might want the whole "eye-crease" look, since it's supposed to look better...but guess what I found...I never thought that the Japanese even HAD a product like this....

Japanese Eyelid Crease Maker

I wonder what happens to the girls who use these? Do they keep buying them in the future?

Tuesday, August 09, 2005

Gordon says...

I think Joyce wanted to push it back. she might stay in Taiwan a bit longer. how does the 15th, 16th, or 17th sound to everyone?

Peter says...

so... um... this party on the 12th... it's happening, right?

karen, ur quote is very... interesting :p

Karen says...

forgiveness is like the beautiful smell that flowers give off when you stamp on them...

Pat: mm....urine yellow....Mountain Dew....

Yesterday I woke up at 6:15 AM to head out to Kelowna for my friend's wedding. It was at Summerhill Winery Estates, and it was GORGEOUS out there. Too bad the wedding was outdoors at one pm, with the temp. at 35 degrees celsius! Bah! Anyhow, totally got blitzed just by tasting eight wine samples there. I was in "happy mode" (quoting my friend's mom) for a while. Wheeeeee......It's pretty sad how low my alcohol tolerance is now. >.<;;;

And by the way, I did NOT buy any wine this time, even though I was tempted to buy the $118 dollar bottle of Merlot Ice Wine....

Hmm..I also succeeded in scaring my best friend's boyfriend with my weirdness. Apparently it was weird for me to say "Yar" and "Boo-urns" go fig.

Pat says...

egh.. urine yellow, aquamarine blue and navy.. interesing colour combo. so... 2 months and there is still nothinge exciting on the blog huh? how uninteresting... but good news.. ill be back in town aug 24... (yeah i hear you all groaning.. but i didn't say who the news was good for..) .. man.. having major bbt withdrawls and in need of my 3 in one milk tea packs.. heh.

oh hey.. and guess what.. finally got my class 5 drivers.. yeap.. the guy who backs into parked cars passed his drivers test... go figure.

Joyce says...

btw, currently in a Chinese and Taiwanese mode, pardon/excuse me for the typo and minor grammatical errors

Joyce says...

hey, I still check the blog when I can.

Steve (well... you are in Mexico now): I think I've met your uncle once. Did he visit you and Star back in the summer after second year? If my memory serves me right, the uncle I met is from NY. hmm.. yay, at least I "know" someone there!!!!!! THNX A LOOOT!

Hi everyone......ahhh i have tons of email to reply....

I finally found one bad thing about Taiwanese food. The most common salad dressing... is mayonaise... yes... the second most common one is thousand island. bah, and it's not only for salad.. but any salad-like dishes... boiled vegi comes with tons of mayo as well. why..why...

one thing i realized today. We lack a LOT of European stuff in Vancouver (or in north america in general), and don't even get me started with Jap stuff. When i said stuff... i meant "stuff"... from boutique to kitchenware, tableware to clothings... no wonder I loved to shop in Taiwan, there are "stuff" from everywhere. In Vancouver (or north america...) u get mostly north american brands (correct me if i'm wrong), for european and japanese, you gotta find your way to specialty stores in different areas of the town. While in tw, you get them in one department store! And the most amazing thing is, there's a department store that has high end things like Louis Voitton, Gucci or Bacarat (sp?), Wedgewood and cheap non-name brand that cost you about $10 CDN for a skirt, and anything in between. bahahaha... it's like Holt Renfrew, Robson, PC, Honger malls in burnaby and Yohan all in one.

karen: you'll probly have to hear from Chris about the final say in the fireworks. i havent discussed it w/ him yet...

joanne: it sounds like ur leg is really suffering and bruised up. can u borrow the crutches from Tim's "supposed falling and leg breaking" incident (or rather, Thomas' crutches) to help u walk?

Wednesday, August 03, 2005

Joanne says...

Yar, I'm afraid I'll be one of those non-participants. Getting my wisdom teeth pulled out the day before and with my legs remaining unable to walk (well, I can walk, just very very slowly and unattractively), I'm afraid I'll be terrible company. Unless you guys don't mind Tylenol 3-induced hallucinatory ramblings about hunger and can happen to park right beside the beach, I think it's best that I sit this one out 8(. Actually, I think the Tylenol 3 would render my legs painless, but I'll still be very drugged up anyhow. Darn it, I miss the fireworks COMPLETELY this year...

Karen says...

chris/cindy: i'm up for fireworks! lemme know if it pans out...as i can see participants appear to be scarce...=P i don't wanna end up being a 'lightbulb'...hehehe.

Christopher says...

Woohoo!

What a deal too! 6 mil a year for one of the top forwards in the league. I'm sure he was probably offered 7 mil from other teams. Now if we can only sign Forsberg then we would be set.

p.s. if u see this before tomorrow: have a great honeymoon steve and star :)

Karen says...

i have a tan line!! actually, i fabricated it myself. i purposely wore an armband over my midarm before spending the day at the beach yesterday. and now there's an ugly (according to my sister and coworkers), but VERY DISTINCT tan line on my arm!!! =P

and yeah, seattle shopping!! this was my first shopping trip down there this weekend and i swear downtown seattle shopping kicks downtown vancouver shopping. if nothing else, americans have it good in that department.

Joyce: Joanne's post reminded me of something - Steve (Star's uncle) lives in Brooklyn and is a bartender there, his girlfriend, Mary, works at Jaques Torres, a chocolate factory in Manhattan! They'd love to show you around thecity for sure, and Mary would definitely hook you up with a tour of the chocolate factory (just don't say "it's just like Willy Wonka" - everyone does, and it's not funny anymore)!

Sometime after Mid-November: Cindy goes to visit Chris in Toronto so Joanne can dress Costa Rican baby boy in adorable little sailor outfits (yes, I can imagine myself being one of those sadistic moms)

Went shopping in Seattle yesterday! I realized a few things:
- Godiva Chocolate liqueur is REALLY REALLY GOOD. But they only have it in the States and not yet in Canada, so Joyce: something to definitely try when you get to New York.
- Buying blazers is probably just as hard for small shoulders as it is for big shoulders.
- Burberry scarf!! Aaahhh.... (ok, this was not really a realization, but had to post this regardless)

Cindy: it is done. That's really cool! Why are you going to Costa Rica? Any special reason, or just for holiday?

Hey Guys!

Who is available the afternoon/night of Saturday August 6th? I'd like to organize an outing to Jericho Beach to watch the Celebration of Lights Finale. One problem is that both me and Cindy won't be available until past 5 PM, which maybe a bit late to get good spots, so others would have to stake the claim earlier. Anyhow let me know if your interested.
