Joyce says...

this is the bathroom..

bed with my koala, Guacamole, and my dear piggie (circa 1986). oh, and see the cover on the nightstand/drawers on wheels... i made that from the left over curtain fabric after heming (sp?) those.

Love that magnetic dry erase board/pin board. It's made in tw (bought in Staples.. :p). Can you tell which item on the wall is from you?

Desk and bookshelf and a corner of my bed. there seems to be lacking binders of notes, etc. :p.. i haven't been printing out things... and everything's still stacked on my paper tray. oh, and see the box under my desk? now THAT's my box load of notes I printed.
oh, and, PETER, we have the same desk. *cough* ikea whore ..

There's the closet and the dresser. On top of the dress's my beauty corner... ah.. and pics of P&C.

This is what it looks like the day I moved in. I continuely lived out of my suitcase for a week after that.. and have no real "room" until the partitioning wall (to make this living room into my room) was put up about 2 weeks later.

There, finally my turn to show off an apartment.. well.. my part of the apartment since I have a roommate. :p Just to rub it in, here's the view from my room... mwahahaha

anyway... eventhough my bed's heavenly, I still can't wait to be back in Vancouver and am already counting the days.
can someone mail me winegum?? please~~~

Gordon says...

Hahaha, yeah, i used to love to complain about my long days and about all the exams I had to do...but i realized that the 130 people in my class are suffering just as bad as I am. The only thing that keeps me going is....thinking that I have it better than the dents!! (sorry joyce...)

one week till vancouver!

vivienne says...

Karen: Ahahahahha...on the other hand, BECAUSE it will raise eyebrows, maybe we SHOULD explain. Ahahah!

Cindy: Awww...poor dear. Take lots of rest (read notes in bed!), sleep when you need to, and I guarantee that's better than any medication you're taking. Studying when you're sick is the epitome of counterproductivity. Also, I have classes from 8:30AM-7PM on tuesdays. :) That's MY long day. There is a fellow student suffering with you, be glad.

Thursday, September 28, 2006

Karen says...

hehehe. in fact, i think if we explain tim's quote of the week, it will probably raise more eyebrows than if we don't, don't you think viv? hahaha.

cindy, drink water and sleep more! easier to say than do, i've caught a cold of sorts just these last couple days too. blah! we must be transmitting germs through the blog. =P

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

totally unrelated; i just need to vent.

just finished midterm monday. marks are out and class avg was way too high for such a hard test - and unlike last time i am smack in the middle of the class avg which sucks cuz it means i won't get excellence for this theme. and then next friday we have the final, worth 50%. argh. oh and this week we began having long days, 8am - 5pm classes and we are totally not used to it; in fact i accidentally slept in a good 3 hrs of lecture the other day and so i'm currently playing the miserable catch-up game.

ahhh. Aaahhh. AAAAAAAHHHHHHH. i dont like stress!

and i think i'm down w/ another cold...crud, i hate my immune system...can someone please donate functional and dedicated lymphocytes?

Wednesday, September 27, 2006

vivienne says...

I totally disagree!

1) The quote sounds exactly as it sounds like. :p I'll leave that to your fertile imagination.

2) I do NOT have the most quotes of the week ... I think. No one ever counted so Tim's claim can't be substantiated, anyway.

Tim says...

I realize I'm attracting attention to my 'Quote of the Week' by saying this but it really wasn't that bad and it's DEFINITELY not what you may think, and besides, I think the quote of the week should change IMMEDIATELY back to one that VVN has said since she definitely takes the cake for making the most 'quote of the weeks'. It's a record!!

Btw, may as well change it to quote of the quarter year as you guys never get around to changing these things for that long...

Karen says...

ben: good call, i almost forgot about that. check with leo (who does not frequent this site), i think he/gordon were wanting to go thanksgiving weekend or something. i'm mostly in unless my dad wants to go see it.

PS: thanks for the b-day wishes. too bad a lot of you aren't in town to attend my/tim's b-day bash.

Happy Bday (belated) KT and TL.!!

Just a thought, anyone want to go to Body World 3? It's 17 dollars after 6pm (15$ if we get a group of 15)... I'm probably gonna try and go see it on a Saturday Oct. 14th... either that, or Nov 11 (have a stretch of exam/presentations)... Anyone interested?

Joanne says...

Whoops, sorry, I wasn't at my computer on Saturday (even though it was turned on). At least now I can tell Karen that there's a couple who will be celebrating their wedding anniversary on her birthday...? hehe.

so...HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY KAREN!

Anyway...

Stephen: I'll actually be in Winnipeg this week! Thursday and Sunday for all of...2 hours. I'm heading to Gimli on a bus from there.

Sunday, September 24, 2006

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

can i just quickly comment on the quote of the week before i scramble back to last minute cramming...

LOL

ok. thats my comment.

Karen says...

hehehe thanks you guys =) so excited! i'm gonna get a vivienne lam original b-day card!! for those of you who saw cindy/ben's b-day cards this past summer, you know what i'm talking about.

and yah, b-day party buddy, i don't get the miss prayer thing either...unless it has to do with our movie...but that'd be a stretch...=P edit: ohhhhhhhh, if you say kTO in chinese, it means PRAYER. hahaahhaa.

and a quick heads up for people: october brings a busy BRO schedule (yay fellow P&C libras!), so stay tuned!!

vivienne says...

Hahah...Karen, I have the MOST perfect idea for your b-day card...just you wait and see! :D

Peter says...

oh yeah... happy whatchamacallit to whatsherface...

Christopher says...

Happy Belated Birthday!

Stephen says...

Happy belated, Karen!

"Miss Prayer"? What's that about?

Saturday, September 23, 2006

Tim says...

Karen: Yeah, what the other two just said....

J/k, HAPPY BIRTHDAY Miss Prayer

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN!

Gordon says...

I guess the BRO gets shafted on their own bday. Oh well...

HAPPY BDAY KAREN!!

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

*currently binging on shrimp crackers and chocolate shamelessly*

Stephen says...

What? Karen gets a corner?

I suppose there are four... and she posts more than I do anyways...

Congrats K-To!

Stephen says...

What up Homies and Homettes?

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Classes are all day long, and Star will kick my ass if I'm on the compy for non-academic purposes at home. Go Canucks! I'm the resident fan here in the 'Peg. I did go to the Oilers-Phoenix game that was here, though. It was fucking sweet! For a city hat hasn't had a hockey team in 10 years, the buildup was awesome (and Edmonton destroyed the ex-Jets 5-0, everyone was ecstatic)!

Li-Kai is coming to the 'Peg for Thanksgiving! Way to represent! Anyone else want to leg it down here for Christmas? Please? I have no friends here yet...

vivienne says...

And ANTM is back as well! Karen, rejoice!

Karen says...

VCR Alert: CSI (the original's still the best!) premieres tonight!!

Joyce says...

OMG OMG OMG!!!

*BREATHE*

I GOT INTERNET!!!
First I have to wait almost 20 days for my service to be activated. Then 4 days before my scheduled return to civilization, they told me I'm ready to go, but I found out there was a wiring problem because whoever came to set it up earlier was stupid.
Anyhoo.....
I'm BACK!!!! no more emails and what not during class, attemptint to steal neighbour's internet, using school's wireless for BT download.

yaaayyy!!!

Wednesday, September 20, 2006

Karen says...

WOW, i'm impressed. ben!! not only are you thinking about CHRISTMAS presents, which is LIGHT YEARS away, but for your PARENTS nonetheless... *thumbs up* good job ben. your parents would be proud. heheh.

Tim says...

In response to your post Ben, we are POOR students who cannot afford Canucks Seasons Tickets. I had to pay $140 for pretty much the WORST seats in all of GM place (almost) to watch a game against Edmonton Oct. 16th (GO CANUCKS GO!! BACK TO BACK GAMES WOOT!! Make some noise for the Canucks on Oct. 17th Gordo!). Maybe next season I will purchase Season Tickets as soon as I get past the 2000+ ppl waitlist for them.

Unknown says...

does anyone have canucks season tickets and trying to sell off some games? I'm looking for something as xmas gift to my parents...

Disgruntled BIOC students start losing it at 8PM in the lab...

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

joycium!!! nice view...makes me wanna visit! may i may i please?
i'm thinking of visiting during the american thanksgiving. are u gonna be busy then? i have a break from nov 22 - 26, but i'm thinking of just visiting u and NYC over the weekend (22-23 my friends want to have a thanksgiving party. so...i can only go 24-26 to see u and u can show me around! heehee esp those awesome thanksgiving sales). lemme know alright?

Sunday, September 17, 2006

vivienne says...

I dunno...that's a pretty sweet view, Joyce. I'm mighty jealous.

Joyce says...

Here's a preview of my room as we've yet to partition the living room and make it my room. yeah.. that's the life of poor students living in NYC.
Oh, why is this a preview of my room?... well.. the view should be part of the room, right? ;P

ahh.. midterm already.

Joyce: Captain Planet doesn't need pain relief from Bengay! He can harness the natural properties of the plants he control...and it's safer too! Besides, he can STEP onto that tube of BenGay and blow it to smithereens!

Captain Planet:2, Bengay:2

Karen says...

just LOOK at the bengay picture...viv, how can captain planet or ANYBODY be cooler than that?!?! hahahaha. i love that picture. hehehe.

but yes, for anybody who needs to know (but i think everybody already does), bengay eurotrip slideshow tonight, the dinner location has been changed, please see sidebar.

PS: YAY, joyce will be back on msn regularly!!!

Joyce says...

Without the muscle pain relief brought by Bengay, Captain planet would probably give up working out, and his bulging biceps will just be a blob of myosin and actin.

Bengay 2: C.P. 1

mwahaha, I'll get internet tonight!

Thursday, September 14, 2006

vivienne says...

BUT BUT BUT...look at Captain Planet's bulging biceps!!! And his handsome countenance! How can you resist that face? LOL

Unknown says...

Come on guys, we all know who would win in this situation...

Karen says...

gary: i'm in for both! feels like longer than 3 months since i've seen you!!

vivienne, but captain planet doesn't have it's own cream for deep penetrating pain relief!!! bengay 1: captain planet 1. hahahahah.

Wednesday, September 13, 2006

vivienne says...

All I can say is...WTH????????

You do NOT compare to Captain Planet, I am sorry. With his green mullet and silver/red costume, he is far too cool for you.

Unknown says...

Hey Gary, I just bought a futon for 30 bucks, but I have to move it from someone else's house. I think it'd be good for this Friday's purposes, so some of us won't have to sit on the floor like peeps usually do when they come over. You want to help me move it tomorrow (that is, Thursday) at, say, 11:15AM? you get off class at 11 right? cuz me 2 mua, muaha, muahaha, MUAOAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

*cough, with our powers combined, I am, BENGAY! Captain Bengay, he's a hero, brings bad odor, down to zero.

vivienne says...

Kudos for planning an outing for P&C! LOL...or rather...D&B since it's just us here in Vancouver. I'm totally in for dinner and photos!

Gary says...

Hi peeps and peepettes,

I don't know if Ben spread the word or not but I guess I'll take things into my own hands since I haven't heard anything yet. Since people seem to prefer this Friday as opposed to Saturday, this is what I am suggesting:

Friday: At 18:00 (17:30 if you are punctually impaired), meet at Shabusen (Granville and 13th) --> simply because I haven't had good sushi for a while now......

If you cannot make it for dinner, then meet at approximately 20:00 at Ben's flat for some photo viewing + story sharing + European chocolate eating. So hopefully everybody can make it to at least one, if not both events. I haven't seen you guys for a while now and it would be a great time to catch up......I would like to know how you guys have spent your summers as well.

Anyways, so I guess reply me whether you can make the events or not. If concrete plans have been agreed already and I'm just wasting my time typing this then please inform me about it. :P

Bis Freitag! :D

hehehhee. may i present: exhibit A and B. two reasons on top of "the cheesecake factory" that seattle's awesome and why there should be a target in canada!! i bought one of the two above items last weekend, you may take a stab which. hehehe.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

I received my BenGay card!!! Now i'm officially IN the loop. muhahahahaha

Karen says...

ben: unfortunately, i have plans on sat. night...WOULD friday night be okay?? please please please??? =P i wanna have dinner with you guys...

a tale of two cities: hehehe, fine, i will officially retract my comment regarding certain chinese cities. it's unfair to offend an entire population of kabillions of people. esp. in china. heheheheh. eek, i'm gonna get shot. okok, i didn't mean that last comment either!! aiya, the internet is potentially such a dangerous place!! =P

RE: Karen's Comment on Shanghai's Superiority

I believe the plan was to do it Saturday either afternoon or at night... (this upcomign sat.)

vivienne says...

Gary, Ben?!!!

Are we still doing that photo/chocolate thing this friday? 'cause I think it's the best time for it....

Karen says...

pat: what?! now that i finally get the coveted admin status, you have to go and give what little power i have to everybody!?!? i knew it, that's exactly what you were thinking too!! hehehe, fine, fine...i have no idea what you are describing but sure, sounds good la. hey, so i have two japanese questions for you: what are the japanese words for "alors (origin: french)" and "la (origin: honger)"?? hahahahahhaha =P.

cindy: congrats congrats!!

oh and also: of no particular relevance to anybody in particular - shanghai beats beijing any day!! muaahahahahahah. (for anybody else except for nobody in particular, i really have no idea if that's even true. =P)

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

FINISHED: my first med school midterm. muahhahahaa. now it's time to par-tay!!

pat: i like the idea but i also like to keep my blog content private (hence, u need to be on my msn list first). how do we go about doing that? or maybe i'll just opt out of the side bar option...

Sunday, September 10, 2006

Peter says...

i adamantly disagree with your use of 'peeps' in that post.

Pat says...

Hey peeps. This is Pat reporting in from Japan. I'm thinking about reformatting the blog a bit to make it more interactive for people. So instead of allowing only the admins to have a special corner with stuff, what I might do is create separate windows for everyone's update because I think everyone has their personal blog and itd be easier to have it all on one page then to check EVERYONE's blog all the time. I'll still keep the main thread so you can comment like usual, but it'll just have this added thing. Let me know what you think and if you guys like it, I'll go ahead and work on it.

Tim says...

YAY!!! I too got a postcard of genitelia from Ben! The only thing is, it got sent to my home in Tsawwassen which was then recently just forwarded to me by my mom. I wonder what she thought when she saw the card...

re: europe show and tell

*with a hint of bitterness, a tiny and very nasal voice in smAlbany says* i guess i'll wait until the slide show on the side bar...

re: us tennis open

with the men's semi and women's final tomorrow, and men's final sunday, i don't think my midterm on monday is looking too well...

Unknown says...

Aii ok... ummmm well, we can't do anything about the people not in Vancouver... THey'll have to wait until we post everything on a site, or come back to Van.
About Saturday, I wouldn't mind getting together to eat... as for place for the show and tell, unless someone wants to donate their living room... I don't know where else we can do it. Anyone in BPP still? got connections to burrow a projector? Then we can book a room in Wood and do it haha not very ethical but...
Other than that, maybe I will start phoning people up this afternoon and see if people can come tomorrow... yes. I know it's short notice

Karen says...

ben:

1) tfl gummmm clique-y: hehehe, yeah, i warned you didn't i? but then when you consider all things that COULD be wrong with a lab you have to be stuck in for 5 years... social environment is one of the more sacrifieable factor i think... it'll get better! =P hehehe, i'll see you there in a couple hours...

2) euro-trip show: hmmm, good luck with getting a response from ppl on the blog, esp. at such late notice. you and i are the only p&c lab ppl in vancouver, alors, we have the most time to CHECK the blog. hehe. sunday is def. no good for me. saturday may be okay... regardless of when this is going to place, what about place?? any chance you guys think you can hold it NOT on campus.........(i can't think of where else but the prospect of going allllll the way out west...) =P =P =P we should have dinner or something together too... yeah yeah?? other vancouver kids??

Unknown says...

Hmmm if we did the show and tell this weekend, say Saturday afternoon, is that too rushed for everyone? Or maybe sunday?

Joyce says...

in my dental radiology class now..... nothing but the development of radiation so far... yay for gamma particle! (or is it?)

Bengay... I got your postcards!!! The first week after being in my new place, I got two real mails already!! hehehe, it was exciting. How you guys managed to meet up w/o help from some middle aged italian who can't understand english but insisting on taking you to the place you want to be after inviting you to sip coffe with him for 3 good hours. (uhm.. yeah.. when you don't have internet for a while, your imagination REALLY developes.) Oh, Joanne saw the cards too while she was at my place.

(woo, x-ray tube, gotta pay attention for a while.)

ok. must log off to conserve baterry...

Gordon says...

I'm back! but you probably haven't really noticed i was gone (nor care)...but those damn bacteria can really kick every being out of you when they are infecting you...having strep and having that spread to your ears and eyes is NOT fun... anyway..

Pat:
You're actually alive! How's it going?! Meet a japanese hottie yet?? Maybe you think we're weird cause... japan has normalized you...or asianized you even more...

Ben/gary:
I'll see your pics and eat your chocolate when i come back in 4 wks! yay for long weekends...!! SAVE SOME CHOCOLATE FOR ME. Believe it or not, I do NOT have high blood sugar...but LOW BLOOD SUGAR...who knew after eating 2Kg of wine gums and 1kg of clodpoppers a day... oh well...YAY FOR INSULIN!

Pete: man, i can't find ONE version of come to me that has any sound...and i tried downloading 12 different ones... i give up!

Jo and other sexatics: Now i understand why the cadavers in the anat lab don't have shriveled up penis' all the time! Yes..it's repro/GI block guys...and all i see is sh*t, penises (what the hell is the plural??), vaginas, and a whole lotta juices squirting out from every GI organ you can think of... it smells amazing joyce (WARNING: ahead...no. 2 takers only)... kind of like... kind of like a jog (aka skydive) you forgot to flush a week ago..no wait...a year and 364 days ago!!.

aight...back to... writing emails!

take care EVERYONE and don't drink water at clubs/bars!

vivienne says...

Ben: I have received your postcard. Thanks so much! :) Hehe, for those of you who don't know...the postcard had graphic depictions of random positions used in sexual intercourse. :P haha...I kid you not. Lessee....There's the "standing up against a wall" position, "about to enter missionary" position, "doggy style" position, "woman on top" position....and some random pic of some roman guy with a huge phallus-thingy.

Wow, I just realized that in first year, I probably couldn't name even one position. And look where I am today, with the help of Gary's Sex Ed 101. :p

Pat: Got your postcard! Awwww....thanks for the sentiments. Heh, actually, where you wrote "Hope you are well" I first read "Hope you die well." LOL

Unknown says...

I don't rant often. But this is a long time coming. TFL is so cliquey (or however you spell it). And ya... a lot of anti-socialites. I cant even find anyone to have coffee with =(
*sigh
On the bright side, having tuition paid for me is a big bonus!

another thing. Gary and I are thinking of holding some sort of get together for those who are interested in seeing photos of BenGay's adventures and hearing stories (I'll give you a teaser: think... Gary and cow-prods... uh huh) and enjoy some coffee and swiss chocolate...

will keep all of you posted

Peter says...

no, actually the blog hasn't changed at all, you've just strayed from p&c for too long and you're starting to become normal.

Pat says...

"Whoa...if there is a hole in the ground....wow...that really IS a hard-on. :p"

What?! Have I been gone that long? Minus Cindy's most recent post, nothing makes any sense! Maybe I don't know how to speak engrish anymore. Or maybe its always made no sense and now I have no sense of it which makes me have nonsense? I dunno..

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

first couple days into third year undergrad i had a bad cold. for a week i walked around with a mask on my face and a box of tissue in my backpack. ppl whispered behind me, "does she have sars?", and those unintimidated asked me, "could i take some of ur tissue to blow my nose?"

first couple of days into AMC I (fast track to present tense) i have a bad cold/flu. i no longer walk around with a mask (forgot it back in vancouver actually) but the box of tissue still travels with me everywhere. in fact i believe many of my classmates have picked up on my disease as the number of classmates borrowing kleenex and blowing their noses increases everyday.

some things never change. for everything else, there is the tissue box. (okay completely random but i have a cold so i am legally insane)

vivienne says...

I just noticed something funny...P&C (or rather...D&B subgroup) went to Tofino this August, and then later there was a water shortage in Tofino. P&C went to Manning Park earlier this summer, and now there is a forest fire along its borders.

===> interpretation: P&C brings bad luck to campsites!

vivienne says...

Whoa...if there is a hole in the ground....wow...that really IS a hard-on. :p

Unknown says...

so... if a man dies face down, and you lift him up.... you will potentially find a hole in the ground?

Joanne says...

Hey...remember our conversation a long while ago about male orgasms and death? Apparently, there is such thing as a "Death Erection." It occurs because blood pools due to gravity when you die aka hypostasis. For men who die laying face down, the pooling of blood will lead to a death erection (because as Gordon pointed out, a "boner" is actually due to increased blood pressure in the penis vasculature).

Joanne says...

I have 4 cold sores (yes, I believe that's a record), a cough, and a fever running for 2 days now. Someone diagnose me!!!! What do I have???

Oh, regarding Karen's lottery update on the sidebar and according to my calculations, the exact chances of winning assuming completely random number picking (there are a lot of assumptions involved in math) are:

for 649 - 1 in 13,983,816
for Super 7 - 1 in 85,900,584

Gordon: Your eye is screwed up again? O.o;;; why is it occurring so frequently?

Cindy: Midterms already? Sounds like you're in medschool alright.

Had my full day of orientations today. Gah, so boring. Anyway, it's kinda sad, but the highlight of the day is getting a locker at Scarfe again. Man, it's weird having combinations to remember. The cool thing is that I'm sharing it with my new friend, so it's like highschool again, in a way. Heh. So psyched to mess up the kids in high school. Nothing like a buncha of hormonal, easily-brainwashed peeps to make up an army of slaves...

Peter says...

EDMONTON, Alberta (Reuters) - Early reports are surfacing of Phish and Chips (TSX: PC) member Karen To being granted Administrative Status on the P&C blog as of Friday. Sources close to the administration (also known as the sacred inner circle of eternal awesomeness) say that her first move as an admin was to threaten the removal of fellow member and arch nemesis Peter Li. Unfortunately, due to her lack of familiarity with the system, overall lack of computer skills, and general incompetency, such a change has yet to be seen.

Karen says...

quick announcement: i've been granted admin status =P.

on a COMPLETELY UNRELATED note: i JUST heard that in edmonton...yeah... they're having these problems with internet servers for law students and law students ONLY... weird!!! and so yeah...you guys, don't be too surprised if we don't see a post from peter for, you know, an undetermined length of time..........

i heart sisterhood...oh boys...=P

PS: darn those subject-verb agreements!!! i usually try extra hard to catch myself on those too!! hehehe.

Pat says...

Hahah.. I love peter's notes.. they're sorta coles notes but with more sass and less fact. In fact, you should have your own corner so that lazy people like me can just extract the synopsis from your tainted view instead of skimming through lines of ranting and trival babble.

I can see it now --
Peter says:
Nothing new this week. Student apathy at a recording break high, brief comments on some unappealing news items. A few posts have resulted in partial gagging and impulsives to throw something sharp into my eye. Read at your own discretion.
