Congee noodle house

Joyce says...

what is CNH.

Sunday, January 28, 2007

Karen says...

hehehe. oh yah...!!! (yeah cuz usually it's the girl who brings back a son who looks like the father...=P =P =P) fixed.

and *lol* CNH, my first reaction was something something hospital?" VGH, CNH... hehehhe. ME LOVES acronyms =) =) =). yah, pat, we even had WOR CHOY (= "he cai") =) =) .

Unknown says...

I thought we agreed that it was "Hi, this is your daughter"... that daughter looking like someone....

vivienne says...

Chris: Hahah...no problem. :D I MSNed the addy to you.

Karen: Yes, I DO remember that answer. :p Drunken night of questions and sambuca. ~.~ I think Leo had the worse of it though...remember that question we popped him? What would you do if you found out that your brother was in love with you or something? hahaahah, awesome times.

BTW: LOVE the quote of the week. Good times at CNH...

Joanne says...

Ah! I missed such a fun conversation!

If it could be CHOCOLATE milk, I'd pick milk. But then I'd end up too engrossed in drinking the sexual milieu rather than engaging in the actual act itself...

Friday, January 26, 2007

Pat says...

wtf... so after ...mm.. who knows how long of a blogging hiatus, this is recap of the information I got:

- there was apparently a cnh meeting on the 19th, grrr... you know i heart cnh
- gary now has a 6yr child that the mother would not know?... did gary give birth to it?
- peter would do it in honey.. which btw.. why are we talking about peter's sexual life?

and honey?? dude. heh heh.. can you imagine if it was in the forest though.. probably wouldnt be very romantic while being attacked by a swarm of bees in broad daylight..

Christopher says...

Vivienne!! I just got your mail today! That is so sweet, thank you very much for sending it. That magnet now has a reserved place of honour on my fridge. Um holding up business cards of very important ppl, thus is very important lol i guess. Unfortunately in my haste, the envelope got ruined (I ripped it to shreds in my haste to open it lol) so I don't have your addy. Could you email or msn me your address?

Joyce says...

wheee.. i can post now.

Thursday, January 25, 2007

Christopher says...

Joyce: Haha, of course! The mile high club is a standard on most guys' list of places to do it. And obviously honey, what sort of question is that. In an era with edible body paint and panties, who the hell picks milk.

Portapotties can be cleaned but in the end without a running water supply I find them gross. Yes Bard's bathrooms were nice, but that icky sanitizer they had was awful. It left the worst stench and stickiness on your hands.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

im proud to say that i have not posted too many pre-exam-panic-attack-ish msg on the blog for the impending exam tomorrow. and make up for it, here is one now.

ahhhhhhhh

AHHHHHHHHHHH

yet to cover: 6 hrs of lecture material + lab material and i should have been asleep half an hr ago...lol.

p.s. porter potty at bard were pretty clean! i recall that i liked the smell of their alcohol stuff (seemed different. but bard seemed so long ago. then again yesterday seemed a long time ago, too)

Gordon says...

haha...hey, i think bard had one of the best protable potties every! compared to the one Tim went in ....in Tofino...

flight attendant... wow, so those things really happen huh? haha...

Joyce says...

Let's say the question's inspired by a friend's personal experience. :p

pete: ew, porta potty. the ones at Bards had traumatized me forever. ... not that anything happened there. it was just gross.

Karen says...

PS: joyce, is there a followup to that question or is this just outta curiosity? *lol*.

Karen says...

*lol*. the unanimous answer to that question (i think it was x'mas 05?) WAS actually honey and i believe we concluded the reason to be viscosity. hahahaha. but of course, which brings me to remind ppl the best answer that night to that question (do you remember viv???): milk, so you can reuse it in the morning for cereal... *LOL*. mmhmm, yep, we're disgusting people. =)

Peter says...

honey

vivienne says...

I can't believe you guys are having this conversation. >.<;;; sea level my butt....but then again, this IS P&C...can't get any worse than "Would you do it in honey or in milk?" :p

Wednesday, January 24, 2007

Joyce says...

Let's say the flight attendant's as hot as someone you'd do normally at sea level.

Peter says...

depends... is she hot? i'd do scarlett johansson in a porta potty if i had the chance...

Joyce says...

whoever invented thongs should be punished to wear them all the time.

Here's a question to all the boys of P&C. If you are offered an opportunity to join a flight attendant for one exciting "mile high club," would you do it, or would you shy away from such encounter because other passengers will probably find out what you've done (or any other reason).

Gordon says...

To all who are against child abuse and are 'nuck fans:

Calgary, Canada - A seven year old boy was
at the centre of an Edmonton courtroom drama yesterday when he
challenged
a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a
history
of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody
to his aunt, in keeping with the child custody law and regulations
requiring
that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy
surprised
the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his
parents
and he adamantly refused to live with her.

When the judge suggested that he live with
his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After
considering
the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic
violence
was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the
unprecedented
step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references
and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary
custody
to the Calgary Flames, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of
beating anyone.

Karen says...

apparently...

in hk/china, to commemorate the year of the pig this coming chinese new year, they've made scratch and sniff postal stamps that smell like sweet and sour pork! hehehe. it gets better... when you lick the back, it ALSO tastes like pork!!! ingenious! *lol*.

joyce, hehehe, i'd like to see you lug that onto the plane as a carry-on =P. names... i thought it came with a name?? what was it again? i remember it was something funny sounding.

Joyce says...

sorry dude and karen. I maxed out on my number of carry-on AND check-in's (one of them's even close to the weight limit). I'll take happy feet with me after spring break cuz i'm not going to take my violin home. Any idea for a name?

Gordon says...

haha...Cin...i DO remember! wow, that was like... 3-4 yrs ago! Nice you gave it a nice home. You should bring it to Albany with you!

on that note...joyce, did you bring back happy feet?

Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Karen says...

on that note... cindy, meet my albino pooh in its default hugging position =). (this was taken when it was still at the store. =P) i completely understand, we're never too old for teddy bears. hehehe. may you find a replacement for yours soon. =)

*ahem* okay i'm ready to come back to age 22 now...

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

wanted: a hug. preferably from a male whom i can keep at home (on my sofa specifically) and abuse whenever i want

im talking about my large teddy bear w/ a big butt that i left in van u guys. hahahaha. (jee - ring a bell?)

seriously tho. i havent been able to study for teh last couple of days. hahaha. thank goodness im not interested in neuro!

Christopher says...

Gordon: Wow thats crazy. Atleast they don't mind too much. Life happens after all.

Haha its amazing that Phish and Chips has been up for three years. I wonder how many hours/days I've spent looking at this page.

Cheers to all of us!

Monday, January 22, 2007

Gordon says...

here's a tip for everyone...set MULTIPLE alarms before an exam... can't believe i missed my anatomy exam today...

Oh well, here's to 100% final on friday =)

And...isn't the P&C anniversay at the end of march?

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Peter says...

anyone else realize that P&C is coming up on it's third birthday? kwaziness...

Karen says...

*ahhhhh* muuuuch better! thank you joyce!! (or less likely steve or pat). the errored title picture at the sidebar has been irking me for soooo long and i keep forgetting to take it off! =P

Gordon says...

haha... gummy smile...i have never heard of it. Before someone told me what it was, I thought it was someone smiling with gummy bears in their mouth haha.

this might be too late... but after hours of anatomy studying....i don't want to do anything relating to the body when i grow up...

Saturday, January 20, 2007

Joyce says...

viv: it's usually because of skeletal problem on your maxilla, definitely NOT because someone grim too widely. most of the time it requires surgery if one wants to get rid of that gummy smile.

omg. stop the exams... seriously.. stop them!

vivienne says...

Cindy: Hmm..regarding "gummy smile," is it actually a problem with the teeth itself or is it just because those people grin too widely? I thought that it was just a bad habit or something...

Friday, January 19, 2007

Joyce says...

karen, I wonder if wearing a raincoat will help the situation. hehe.
joanne, i thought one of the perks of being someone's significant other is you get to whine and seek support from them. hmmm.... or is that why my relationships always fail...

Speaking of American Idol, I was watching it on Tivo with my friends here yesterday, and we turned it into American Idol/dentistry. Seriously, we couldn't stop criticizing someone with horrible teeth. At one point, everyone winced and went "oh my god," not because of the singing but because of the HUGE maxillary vertical excess aka "gummy smile."

I'd say American Idol's fun to watch at the preliminary stages and mayhaps the final.

alright. back to ortho.

Joanne says...

I'm trying to study with the TV going on front of me. Snoop Dogg piloting a plane, lol. What will they think of next...

Here's a question for you all. Should I tell my significant other about my academic worry or is that best kept to myself since he's done school now and my telling him would just bore him out of his mind?

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

my latest trend: study at a coffee shop

i dont think it's healthy that i cannot study at home and have to resort to a coffee shop (aka social facilitation). furthermore i dont think i actually study better there given the increase in distraction (ie background music, friends chattering). but lately i just cant buckle down and study at home.

sigh. i am supposed to go study at a coffee shop w/ 3 other friends tonight (or more than 3 friends since we always see fellow med students at the same starbucks. there is only one around anyways). maybe i should give home a try tonight.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

karen: oh poor girl!!! LOL i definitely do not miss those frightfully-walking-on-the-sidewalk days...bus drivers are HORRIBLE too, not just car drivers...and definitely no, i repeat, NO, expensive and dryclean only clothes/coats on a rainy day...

lol. very much like carrie the opening scenes of sex and the city...

p.s. and one more thing. your rationality for the consolation is hi-larious...how generous of u! hahahaha...

Karen says...

*lol* beauty and the geek, at first i thought they were romantically pairing them!! i was SO horrified. hahahaha.

okay rant time.

ben, i TOTALLY agree about the cold. brrrrr. vancouver was NOT made for snow and it just should not ever get this cold. i mean, at least toronto has those insulated bus stops, we should get those! i've had many many experiences of not being able to get home from work for hours and being stranded in the cold this lovely winter season. nooo moorrreeeeeeeee... for the love of all things warm!!

and ALSO, for vancouverites who drive, when driving through OAK street between oh say w. 28th and king ed, both north and southbound, if you could just drive a LITTLE BIT farther AWAY from the sidewalk and the BIG HUGE PUDDLE next to the little helpless pedestrian, it would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. there've been SOOO many times where i would get to the lab having been COMPLETELY drenched not once but two or three times and it takes me til lunch time to dry off. and it sucks, cuz along there, the buildings are SO close to the sidewalk that there really is no place to run! so many huge puddles, esp. on snowy/rainy days and the cars go so fast!!! and umbrellas don't quite work when the water is coming from the top, side and bottom -- i've tried. ahhhhhhh! the only consolation i can think of is that it must look SO funny for any driver that gets to witness this. AND, how fortunate i feel on mornings like today when i actually get to work dry. =P =P =P

okay i'm done. may you all have a good, warm, and dry day. (oh the little things we take for granted!) =) =)

vivienne says...

Vancouver Peeps

Don't forget....Congee Noodle House Dinner

January 19th, 6:30PM!

Gary says...

Heheh. I'm too good for either one of those crappy shows.

"Beauty and the Geek", now we're talking about real quality here people. Everyone should watch with. :P

vivienne says...

LOL, I went the other way....Apprentice THEN American Idol....

Gordon says...

haha...no...haven't watched American Idol since the 2nd season... moved on to bigger and better things...like the apprentice =P

Wednesday, January 17, 2007

vivienne says...

Oh, man...I just finished watching American Idol tonight, and I have to say that it's the funniest episode ever, especially when they compiled a whole bunch of people singing "Dontcha"....had me laughing hysterically. Did anybody else watch it? Gordon?????..

Tuesday, January 16, 2007

Joyce says...

hmm... a mild -14 after windchill here in ny. We will get snow on Saturday!
speaking of checking out weather here, I still use the good old canadian "the weather network.," and occasionally seek second opinion from weather.com, which is in Fahrenheits.
Celsius to Fahrenheits.... now i find a simpler calculation. From F to C, which is what i usually need, you subtract 32 and then divide by two and add 1 or 2 degree (negligible error), voila!

And how do i communicate with my american friends? It's easy. State the temperature in celsius, tell them I'm canadian and either do their own math or get on at the same page with rest of the world. :p :p :p

Unknown says...

meanwhile in Vancouver, it's gonna be a whopping 1 degree celcius tomorrow! OMG THE CHILL-NESS! I donno if I can take it...

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

the 'peg-ers, torontonians and UoAers r gona laugh at me for saying this

but it's gonna be -20 degree celcius tomorrow with windchill

argh. i feel head-achy just thinking about it. and just a couple days ago it was 18 degree celcius and i was outside playing tennis...

the trees must have been so confused. wait, what trees? hahaha...

Saturday, January 13, 2007

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

jee: my school made us do the personality test actually! i am not sure if everyone can access this but try: aamc.org/careersinmedicine/
u might need ur old AAMC application and password lol

if not i can look it up for u (by changing my own profile. i'll just change it back later, no biggie)

Gordon says...

Cin: haha, so which of the 50 specialities are you going to choose from on that list you have there?

But that's a cool test! Where did you get it?

Friday, January 12, 2007

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

according to the Myers-Briggs type personality test:
I'm an ESFJ: an extraverted feeling with sensing

I related more easily to the world of people and things outside me. (as supposed to ideas and thoughts in my mind)

I am interested in what my five senses show me. (as supposed to using my imagination to see possibilities and insights hidden to the eye) - this one I am STRONGLY sensing, haha.

I make judgement/decision based on my values. (as supposed to using impersonal analysis and logic)

and I like having things decided; and my life is planned and orderly. (as supposed not wanting to miss anything and be spontaneous and flexible)

Thus I should be an anesthethist, family practitioner, internist, obstetrician gynecologist, pediatrician, or general surgeon

woot. I definitely like having things decided for me - that one they got right! now I know what I'm gonna do!

Joanne says...

It's expected to reach a high of +8 here today! Oh, but we're expecting -3 tomorrow.....BRRRRRR...hehehe.

Thursday, January 11, 2007

Gordon says...

yep...-40 something with wind chill...but i realized..that anything after -20 feels the same anyway... cause you're numb either way.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

joyce: no fair. it's like -10 over here in albany...

Joyce says...

it's +4 now. mwahaha..... going to 8~11 tomorrow.

Peter says...

well, if it makes you feel any better steve, we've got -35ÂșC without the windchill here in Edmonton...

Stephen says...

It's official, Winnipeg is freezing. It's -36 with the windchill and it's set my mind on moving to New Zealand. How's Vancouver doing? Please tell me it's not 10 and sunny. I don't think I could handle it.

Welcome to winter wonderland Gary!

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

vivienne says...

Gary's off to do his thing, eh? That's some good stuff. :D

Found this on Cindy's facebook....

Get Your Study Back music video

Karen says...

*sigh* yes, 'tis true. gary's leaving us again... after months of ben/i double-teaming to convince gary to stay here to do gradschool w/ us. =( gary, i suppose now you can buy a house in winnipeg like you wanted! and maybe during those 6 years, we will come and visit you and your house in cold cold winnipeg and party it up p&c style =P hehehe.

ben: do you know the details (time/date/number of ppl reserved) of the dineout vancouver thing? i haven't been able to reach gary for some reason...

Stephen says...

Gary's coming to The 'Peg? Sweet!

You guys should all come. We'll have a freezing cold party! It's -24 with the windchill today (Brrr!). Thank God for silk longjohns. They're luxurious and warm!

Unknown says...

So Gary will be ditching us after all! To Winnipeg for 6 year he goes, leaving behind a trail of broken hearts, broken ... wait... what?

Haha j/k j/k... but it does look like PK-BAG is down to KBA (well, starting September anyway)... Seriously though, Canada Health is a good choice for grad school, and all the power to Gary and his Ebola.

But girls, get your Gary while he lasts... that be a good thing or bad, you decide.

Tuesday, January 09, 2007

Joanne says...

Chris!!! I made the Winterlicious reservation.

Saturday, January 27th, 1:00pm @ Pangaea on 1221 Bay St

So that will be a $20 lunch.

Monday, January 08, 2007

Stephen says...

Happy new year!

I was in Cuba for the actual day, so please accept my belated well-wishings.

Saturday, January 06, 2007

vivienne says...

Haha...well, Tim, there really is no point to them. They're just fun to take, actually. The process of taking those is actually pretty hilarious...."Hurry, pose, pose before the time runs out!"

And if you must know, it was Pat who initiated the photo pics. Hahha...and the proof? I can't even read enough japanese to operate those machines! It's all Pat!

Tim says...

I must admit, they look pretty good Viv...although I still don't understand the point of them.

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

cute pictures!!!!!

Pat says...

-_- i was clearly drugged when those were taken...

Friday, January 05, 2007

Joyce says...

we need an insane dose of sarcasm. STAT!

vivienne says...

Hahaha, I finally got around to scanning the photostickers Pat and I took in Kyoto. XD XD XD

It's kinda blurry, dunno why my scanner's reacting so badly to it.

The one with the teapot in the corner, there's writing saying: "Pour me a cup o' tea, KB!"

Thursday, January 04, 2007

Karen says...

hehehe. cute pictures. i can't think of any two people who would look more at home in the japanese setting! maybe it's the anime-esque expressions that you guys both usually have on your faces...hehe.

PAT: are you gonna move the blog to the "new version" of blogger?? you're the only one who can do it.

Wednesday, January 03, 2007

vivienne says...

My trip pictures are up! XD

Part 1: Japan with Pat

Joanne says...

Thanks Gary for reminding me. CHRIS!!! The Winterlicious menu is out. Anything you want to try out??? I've been to quite a few already but there are some I certainly would not mind going to again 8p.

Tuesday, January 02, 2007

Gary says...

Oh yeah, forgot to say.

Let me know soon as some of the more popular restaurants are already booked full! :/

Gary says...

Hey Vancouver peeps,

Would you like to do Dineout 2007?

Let me know, its from January 19th until February 4th and it would be fun.

Also, ideas for restaurants/price ranges are welcome......

Monday, January 01, 2007

vivienne says...

Hey....guys....*imagine a very dark-circled, hair-rumpled, tired looking Viv*

Sorry for the lack of response to phone calls and whatnot.

Jetlagging sucks. Viv has succumbed to the horrors of flying back east. The trip was wonderful, mind you, but the final flight did me in!

Happy new years, guys!

NeverGonnaGrowUp says...

its been very quiet here. lol.

anyhow i just wanted to wish everyone who goes back to school/work soon an academically prosperous and personally fulfilling year!!!!

ps im leaving the day after and i still have not seen a hint of viv...WHERE ARE YOU VIV???

pps christina aguilera's back to the basics dual CD is awesome. ok. im done plugging.
